Murder in Yau Ma Tei
     Police are investigating a murder case in Yau Ma Tei yesterday (January 14) in which a 42-year-old foreign woman and a 6-year-old foreign boy died.

     About 8.30am yesterday, Police received a report that three people were injured inside a hotel room on Austin Road West.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found a 42-year-old woman and her 6-year-old son sustaining neck injuries and lying unconsciously on a bed who were then certified dead at scene. Sustaining injuries to hand and face, the woman’s 42-year-old husband was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

     Initial investigations revealed that the deceased were attacked by the 42-year-old foreign man with a knife. Police later arrested the man at scene for murder. He is being detained for further enquiries.

     A knife in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

     Investigation by the District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim District is underway.
