David Zwirner opens Hong Kong gallery as Asia debut
***************************************************
New York contemporary art gallery David Zwirner announced today (January 9) that it will open a gallery in Hong Kong on January 27, leveraging Hong Kong's international art hub status for its debut in Asia.

The gallery occupies the fifth and sixth floors of the H Queen's building in Central. David Zwirner Hong Kong will serve as the gallery's regional base, showcasing distinctive works to a clientele of international collectors built up in Asia over its 25 year history, said the Founder, Mr David Zwirner.

"Opening a gallery in Hong Kong was a natural development for us in the region. We've participated in art fairs in Hong Kong and the Mainland for more than seven consecutive years, and see the growth potential of the Asia market. Our artists have been welcomed in Asia too, and we have engaged with many collectors based in the region."

"Hong Kong is an art hub in Asia, and we are excited to be a part of it. Apart from presenting exhibitions by our international artists here in our Hong Kong gallery, we will also explore the opportunity to work with local art organisations to support the local art scene," said Mr Zwirner.

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong Dr Jimmy Chiang welcomed David Zwirner's choice of Hong Kong to make its Asia debut. He said, "Hong Kong has a thriving art scene. Many international galleries have already set up a presence in the city. Together with access to the fast-growing number of high net worth individuals in Asia-Pacific, the city is an ideal place for overseas galleries from which to expand in the region."
