Resignation of Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah as Chairman of Air Transport Licensing Authority

     The Government announced today (January 5) that Ms Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah has resigned as the Chairman of the Air Transport Licensing Authority.
 
     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, said, "We wish to thank Ms Cheng for her sterling contributions and outstanding Chairmanship during her service with the Authority. With Ms Cheng's leadership and contributions over the past five years or so, the Authority has been successful in implementing the new regulatory regime of air transport licensing and discharging its statutory functions most effectively in promoting aviation development in Hong Kong."
 
     The Authority is an independent statutory body established under the Air Transport (Licensing of Air Services) Regulations, Cap. 448 sub. leg. A. It is responsible for considering applications from airlines of Hong Kong for licences to operate scheduled services to and from Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the said regulations.
