Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) invites couriers and human resource practitioners in the industry to join an occupational health public talk on delivering items by hand on January 4, 2018 (Thursday). The talk will introduce the causes of and preventive measures for musculoskeletal discomfort and heat stress, two common occupational health hazards facing couriers.
 
     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Health Education Room of the LD's Occupational Safety and Health Centre (G/F, Kwun Tong Community Health Centre Building, 60 Hip Wo Street, Kwun Tong). Given by the LD's occupational health nurse, the talk will include demonstrations and practice of workplace exercise.
 
     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Chemical and occupational health" on January 10 (Wednesday), introducing how chemicals enter the human body, their impact on health, as well as preventive measures.
 
     The talk, similarly given by the LD's occupational health nurse, will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay.
 
     Both talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.
