Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan today (December 20) in which a 70-year-old woman died.

     At about 1.54pm, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driven by a 57-year-old man was travelling along Castle Peak Road towards Sham Shui Po. When approaching near Kwong Cheung Street, it reportedly knocked down the 70-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head and multiple body injuries, the woman was certified dead at scene.

     The HGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
