CHP launches revamped website
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) officially launched its revamped website (www.chp.gov.hk) today (December 12) to assist members of the public to get health information more easily.

The CHP website provides a one-stop health information hub for the public. The revamped website adopts a more user-friendly approach and is equipped with an enhanced search engine. Enriched contents include the newly added "Healthy Life Course" section, which allows prompt access to information related to different stages of life. Another new section, "Health Promotion Projects", is also included to allow quick access to different thematic webpages under the DH.

With the new interface and enhanced features of the revamped website, users can view key information such as health "Alerts" and "Response Levels" on different infectious diseases at a glance when they enter the landing page. The site menu has been regrouped to allow easier navigation. New features also include health tips which give daily and seasonal health information and an embedded CHP Facebook Fanpage in the Traditional Chinese version.

New personalised features include the "My Health" button, which enables users to bookmark their favourite pages in the CHP website and make quick reference later. Users can also subscribe to the CHP's periodicals or publications by registering to receive notifications from the MyGovHK portal on the latest issues.

In addition, new buttons have been added to allow users to share health information easily to social media such as Facebook or Twitter, or via email or WhatsApp. Each individual webpage is also assigned a unique QR code for easy sharing of information.

To facilitate web surfing with tablet computers and mobile phones, responsive web design is used on the CHP's website. The revamped website will detect the device used and adjust the character size and elements in webpages automatically for a better and smoother experience.

The CHP website has been a key resource channel to access health information and local health situation. Members of the public are welcome to visit the revamped CHP website for the latest health information and advice.
