*************************************************
The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (December 8) visited the Hong Kong Police College in Wong Chuk Hang to learn more about the professional training of the Hong Kong Police Force and the learning experience of Administrative Officers (AOs) participating in the Leadership Enhancement Programme there.

Mr Law first met with the Director of the Hong Kong Police College, Ms Edwina Lau, and was briefed on the operation and training facilities of the College. Mr Law then watched a demonstration of the Police's handling of emergency incidents and a foot drill practice by trainees. He also toured the College's facilities including the Tactical Training Complex and the Recruit Police Constables Barracks.

Mr Law also met with the AOs who were participating in the Leadership Enhancement Programme. He listened to them talk about their experience in the programme and observed a team-building exercise carried out by them.

Since 2006, the Civil Service Bureau has been arranging for AOs with a certain number of years of service to join the annual Leadership Enhancement Programme organised by the Hong Kong Police College. The two-day training programme aims to strengthen their mindset, self-confidence, team spirit and leadership through various team-building and physical training activities. Nearly 200 AOs have participated in the programme since its launch.
