Police today (December 3) arrested a 37-year-old non-ethnic Chinese man in suspected connection with a murder and arson case in Tin Shui Wai in the small hours today in which a 66-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman died.

     About 1.05am today, Police received reports that a fire broke out inside a tin-sheeted structure in Tin Sum San Tsuen in Tin Shui Wai.

     Police sped to the scene. After the fire was put out, two dead bodies were found at scene. They were confirmed to be a 66-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman after investigation.

     Police arrested a 37-year-old non-ethnic Chinese man for murder and arson this morning. The man is being detained for further enquiries.

     Post-mortem examinations on the deceased will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death.

     Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Yuen Long District is under way.
