SLW to visit Beijing

     The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, will depart for a five-day visit to Beijing tomorrow afternoon (November 27). He will also attend a meeting jointly organised by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the China Disabled Persons' Federation (CDPF).

     While in Beijing, Dr Law will call on various ministries and organisations, including the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the International Labour Organisation - Beijing Office.

     On November 30 and December 1, Dr Law will attend the ministerial segment of the high-level intergovernmental meeting on the midpoint review of the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities, 2013-2022, jointly organised by the United Nations ESCAP and the CDPF.

     During Dr Law's absence, the Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Caspar Tsui, will act as Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
