"Show your love · Stop feeding us" Carnival to be held this weekend
*******************************************************************
To further promote the message of not feeding wild animals and feral pigeons to the public, the "Show your love.Stop feeding us" Carnival organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) will be held at the Sky Dome Atrium, Level 1, D·PARK Shopping Centre, Tsuen Wan, from noon to 8pm this weekend (November 25 and 26). Admission is free.

Unlike general pets, wild animals such as monkeys and wild pigs have an instinct to forage for food in nature, where they can find enough food themselves. Feeding these wild animals will lead to their overpopulation and unbalance the ecosystem. In addition, feeding feral pigeons will cause them to congregate, resulting in environmental hygiene problems. The "Show your love.Stop feeding us" Carnival aims to remind members of the public not to feed wild animals and feral pigeons, as well as raise awareness of caring for and protecting animals, through various activities including game booths, an exhibition and a craft workshop.

A colouring competition for students under the same theme was organised by the AFCD to enhance promotion of care and protection of animals among children and youths. Over 12 000 submissions have been received, and prizes will be presented in the carnival tomorrow (November 25).
