Proprietor and employee fined for violation of safety legislation

Cathay Pacific Services Limited and an employee of which were fined $70,000 and $10,000 respectively at West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts today (November 23) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.

The case involved a fatal accident that occurred in the Hong Kong International Airport on February 19 this year. A worker was fatally trapped between the dollies of a tractor parked at the apron when the dollies were bumped by the dollies of another moving tractor.
