****************************************************************
The seminar was held at the Conference Hall of the Central Government Offices today and was attended by the Chief Executive, politically appointed officials, non-official members of the Executive Council and senior government officials. There were about 240 attendees.
A Government spokesman said, "The HKSAR Government has been organising a series of seminars on national affairs as necessary, for which Mainland officials, experts and academics are invited to speak on various topics. Through the presentations and discussions in the seminars, politically appointed officials, senior government officials and those who take part in policymaking can gain a better understanding of the issues concerned.
"The 19th National Congress is of utmost and far-reaching significance for the development of our country. It is also of great importance to Hong Kong. The section on Hong Kong in the report delivered at the 19th National Congress clearly outlines the support of the Central Government for Hong Kong's integration into the national development strategies. The seminar today is conducive to a deeper appreciation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress and its contents by government officials, which would facilitate the work of the HKSAR Government."
