Murder in Sha Tin

At about 3.10pm, Police received a report that a man was injured outside Banyan House, Kwong Yuen Estate after another man attacked him with a knife.
Police officers sped to the scene and found a 73-year-old man lying on the ground. Sustaining injuries to his chest, the man was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital unconsciously where he was certified dead at 5.12pm.
After initial investigation, Police arrested a 77-year-old man in suspected connection with the case. He is being detained for further enquiries. Sustaining injuries to his mouth and neck, he was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in conscious state.
A knife in suspected connection with the case was seized at scene.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad Team 1 of Sha Tin District is underway.
