ANE: Cantonese Opera Day
   The Cantonese Opera Day will be held on Sunday (November 26) at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and Hong Kong Space Museum.
   An opening ceremony will be staged at 1.30pm at the main stage of Piazza C of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Officiating at the ceremony will be the Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs, Mrs Angelina Cheung; the Chairman of the Cantonese Opera Advisory Committee, Professor Andrew Chan; the Chairman of the Cantonese Opera Development Fund Advisory Committee, Professor Lui Yu-hon; the Chairperson of the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong, Dr Liza Wang; and the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services, Ms Michelle Li.
   Coverage is invited.
   Cantonese Opera Day offers an entertaining programme, including the drama "Backstage", which starts at 11.30am; Cantonese opera excerpts and operatic songs; talks; demonstration workshops on Cantonese opera stylised movement and posture, parent-child face mask drawing and make-up, music and singing styles; stall games; a Cantonese opera riddle quiz; and an animated film show. Cantonese opera virtuosos Lee Lung, Nam Fung, Sun Kim-long, Wong Chiu-kwan, Ng Chin-fung, Wan Fai-yin, Wai Chun-fai, Chan Wing-yee, Tam Sin-hung and Lau Wai-ming will also be present for autograph signing.
   All programmes and activities will come to an end at approximately 5.30pm.
