Sick person in custody dies in public hospital

She was sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of breach of condition of stay on September 25, 2017. As she was suffering from renal disease and wet gangrene of the right foot with sepsis, she had all along been receiving medical care and follow-up at the public hospital. During hospitalisation, her condition deteriorated and she was certified dead at 1.12pm today.
The case has been reported to the Police. A death inquest will be held by the Coroner's Court.
