Secretary for Security visits Wong Tai Sin (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr John Lee, visited Wong Tai Sin this afternoon (November 16) to learn about its law and order situation and the livelihood of local people. He also visited a neighbourhood elderly centre in the district.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Ms Annie Kong, Mr Lee first attended a meeting of the District Fight Crime Committee of Wong Tai Sin. During the meeting, Mr Lee had a thorough discussion with Committee members on various issues of concern including combating cyber deception, telephone deception and drug-related crimes, as well as listening to their views on the law and order situation in the district. During the discussion, a number of members commended the police work in the district.

     Afterwards, Mr Lee visited the Kowloon City Baptist Church Neighbourhood Elderly Centre (Lok Fu), where he was first briefed on the community support services provided by the centre. Mr Lee then chatted with elderly persons there and toured the facilities. He also took the opportunity to promote anti-crime messages to the seniors, reminding them to stay vigilant against the prevailing scams.

     Before concluding his visit, Mr Lee met with members of the Wong Tai Sin District Council to exchange views on various issues relating to people's livelihood and the future development of the district.
