*****************************************************************
The Civil Aid Service (CAS) held a mountain rescue skills demonstration at Lei Yue Mun Point (Old Quarry, Sam Ka Tsuen) in Yau Tong, Kowloon, this morning (November 14). The demonstration by the members of the CAS Mountain Search and Rescue (MSaR) Company included cliff rescue, guiding line rescue and winching of casualties conducted by Government Flying Service helicopter.

The demonstration was part of the biennial standards check for the CAS MSaR Company.

Three experts from the United Kingdom's Royal Air Force Mountain Rescue Service, Squadron Leader Simon Moore, Chief Instructor Edward Jones and Team Leader Benjamin Wood, conducted the two-week standards check, which aimed to assess the techniques of the members of the MSaR Company, the use of MSaR equipment, and operational proficiency and efficiency to ensure a high standard of service.
