LegCo Panel on Transport visits sites of To Kwa Wan Station and Kai Tak Station of Shatin to Central Link project (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Transport conducted a site visit today (November 13) to the sites of To Kwa Wan Station and Kai Tak Station of the Shatin to Central Link (SCL) project being implemented by the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL).

     Members first received a briefing on the latest works progress of the SCL project by the Projects Director of MTRCL, Dr Philco Wong.  Members then visited To Kwa Wan Station to better understand how the ancient wells of the Song-Yuen Period and other relics discovered in the site are preserved.   Members also learnt that showcases will be provided in the concourse of the station for the Antiquities and Monuments Office to display the antiques unearthed.

     Members later boarded the works trains to Kai Tak Station and toured the platform and concourse to learn more about the service and facilities of the station.  

     Members who participated in the visit included the Chairman of the Panel, Mr Frankie Yick , and the Panel members, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Michael Tien, Mr Wu Chi-wai, Dr Helena Wong, Mr Poon Siu-ping, Dr Chiang Lai-wan, Mr Luk Chung-hung, Dr Cheng Chung-tai and Mr Jeremy Tam.
