Local premiere of FDF-financed film "Tomorrow is Another Day"

The local premiere of a new film financed by the Film Development Fund (FDF), "Tomorrow is Another Day", will be held this evening (November 13). The production budget for the film was around $8.49 million, with government finance amounting to about $3.4 million.
"Tomorrow is Another Day" is the first feature film directed and written by screenwriter Chan Tai-lee, starring Teresa Mo and Ray Lui. The film depicts how a middle-aged woman faces the plight of being forsaken by her unfaithful husband and taking care of her autistic son with mild intellectual disability on her own, and finally finds a new path for herself.
The film is one of the "Special Presentation" films of the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival 2017. Director Chan was also one of the guest speakers at the festival's Local Power Forum, which focused on up-and-coming directors.
The Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Film Development Council, Mr Wellington Fung, said, "Both veteran and new actors and actresses are cast in the film. I believe that the superb acting skills of the two generations can bring this accomplished local film to a wider audience."
He added, "The Government will continue to nurture more professional talents for the film industry through the FDF in order to assist them to meet market demands and to foster the long-term development of the local film industry."
In May 2015, the Government further injected $200 million into the FDF to boost the volume of local film production and nurture film talent. Since 2007, the FDF has financed 31 film projects, involving total funding of about $85.36 million.
