Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Food and Health, Professor Sophia Chan, after attending a public function this morning (November 9):

Reporter: You mentioned that there would be a guideline published on the antibiotics use for primary care doctors. Could you please elaborate a bit on the details? Would it be a new measure? Would the doctors be asked to report the antibiotics used through an e-health system?

Secretary for Food and Health: The Department of Health is working on some guidelines. They are also engaging many of our private practitioners to first understand the current situation of antibiotics use, not only in the public system but also in the private system, and see whether there are any ways that we can help in following the recommendations set out in our action plan.
