Commissioner of Police, Mr Lo Wai-chung officiated at the launching ceremony of the event and distributed blessing bags to the elderly.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Lo said that the event was one of the highlights of SPC this year. SPC members of 21 Police districts will distribute the blessing bags to the elderly in need and get the messages of crime prevention and road safety across to them.

Mr Lo also expressed appreciation of the efforts made by different Police districts, working partners and SPC members in the past three years. He encouraged SPC members to continue to fight against crime with Police and serve the community with their experience and strength.

The SPC, established in February 2014, aims to promote crime prevention, fight crime, domestic and road safety messages to the elderly, provide a platform for the elderly to participate in meaningful activities as well as serve the community. This year SPC appointed three ambassadors, namely Ms Sit Ka-yin as “Community Care Ambassador”, Mr Wu Fung as “Fight Crime Ambassador”, and Mr Au Sui-keung as “Prevent Crime Ambassador”. Mr Au also composed the theme song of SPC and sang before the audience for the first time.
