SCS on civil service pay adjustment

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, at a media session after the meeting of the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council today (October 27):

Reporter: When will the Government deliver the pay rise after the approval?

Secretary for the Civil Service: We will be giving the revised pay together with the back pay to all civil servants in the payment of the salary at the end of November, so it is in about a month’s time, because now it is already end of October.

Reporter: Is this approval slightly later than the scheduled time?

Secretary for the Civil Service: As you all know we first put forward the item in July, but this is a welcomed decision by all civil servants. Thank you very much.
