Over 3 000 vacancies on offer at New Opportunities-New Terrain Job Expo

     The Labour Department, together with the Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, will hold a large-scale job expo for Mainland and Hong Kong enterprises at Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hung Hom on October 26 and 27.

     A total of 48 well-known enterprises from the Mainland and Hong Kong will participate in the expo, offering over 3 000 job vacancies. In addition to a number of integrated enterprises, other enterprises from sectors including banking, finance, insurance, communications, transport, and import and export trade will take part. The vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as trainee bank officer, export/import trade manager, internship-project administrator, interior designer, flight attendant, book store management trainee and more. A cadet pilot training programme will also be on offer from a participating organisation. Job seekers can find more information on the department's Interactive Employment Service website (www.jobs.gov.hk).

     Most of the vacancies are full-time jobs. A large proportion of vacancies require secondary education level or above, or less than two years relevant experience, and many are suitable for young job seekers with post-secondary education.

     In addition, Qianhai International Liaison Services Limited will set up a special counter to introduce the development of the Shenzhen Qianhai Region and the start-ups competition and start-up opportunities of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, while the Hong Kong - Shanghai Youth Association will introduce details of the Employment Programme in Shanghai.

     The job expo will run from 11am to 5.30pm at podiums CF, FG, FJ at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom (MTR Hung Hom Station Exit A1/D1). Admission is free.
