SEN begins his itinerary in Paris (with photos)

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, began his visit programme in Paris, France, on October 22 (Paris time) by joining various activities of CityLab 2017.

     Held annually since 2013, the CityLab: Urban Solutions to Global Challenges summit aims at providing a platform for city leaders and experts from across the world to exchange innovative ideas for the development of more liveable and sustainable cities.

     In the morning, Mr Wong joined the opening event of CityLab 2017, Mayors Innovation Studio, hosted by the President of the board of the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group (C40) and the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Cities and Climate Change, Mr Michael Bloomberg, to learn about the latest strategies to create a culture of innovation to improve the living quality of cities.

     Mr Wong attended the Together4Climate session hosted by C40 in the afternoon. During the breakout session on energy, Mr Wong addressed mayors of other cities on Hong Kong's experience in reducing carbon emissions, including promoting wider use of renewable energy, as well as energy efficiency and conservation.

     Mr Wong will continue his visit programme in Paris on October 23 and 24 (Paris time).
