Transcript of remarks by CS at media session (with video)
*********************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, at a media session after attending an event this morning (October 22):

Reporter: Mr Cheung, regarding John Tsang's case, is the Government trying to put pressure on him through the advisory committee or on RTHK?

Chief Secretary for Administration: Well, there is no question at all of putting pressure on John. In fact, what's happening is that the Chief Executive Office is purely seeking factual information on the position that he would assume or he is already assuming, in order to enable the Government to make a decision as to whether a case has to be put to the committee concerned for advice. In fact, it is really factual information that we are requesting, so all we need is actually for the past official concerned to provide the information as requested and then facilitate a decision to be made, as simple as that. It is purely procedural and it is respecting the present system and also at the same time trying to provide fullest information enabling a quick decision to be made. Once the information is available, I think we can make a quick decision fairly fairly fairly quickly.
