Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, at a media stand-up after attending radio programme today (October 18):
 
Reporter: On your government plan to recruit more young people in government committees, can you give a bit more details about what kind of committees and when will this recruitment process begin?
 
Secretary for Home Affairs: The recruitment process is under progress and we hope that we can go public at the end of this month. We will set up a new committee comprising all the (involved) committees' chairmen and SHA (Secretary for Home Affairs) to handle the applications. We hope that we can recruit the youth members starting from next year.
 
Reporter: Will the youngsters' political affiliation be considered when you carry out this recruitment?
 
Secretary for Home Affairs: All the youths, no matter whether they have political affiliation or not, are welcome to apply for these posts.
