Murder and attempted suicide in Kwai Chung

About noon, Police received a report that a 34-year-old man was lying on a slope outside Shing On House, Kwai Shing East Estate. He was suspected to have fallen from height.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 34-year-old man sustaining multiple injuries. He was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in conscious state. Officers later found the man’s 77-year-old mother lying unconsciously inside a unit in Shing On House. Sustaining injuries to her neck, she was certified dead at scene.
Initial investigation revealed that the man attacked his mother before jumping down from the unit.
A knife in suspected connection with the case was found inside the unit.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Kwai Tsing District is underway.
