"Sparkle! Room for a Book" exhibition explores meaning of "home" (with photos)
******************************************************************************
The "Sparkle! Room for a Book" exhibition was unveiled today (October 6) at Oi! in North Point. The third exhibition of the "Sparkle!" series organised by Oi!, "Sparkle! Room for a Book" showcases five books themed around the topic "home". Using an artistic visualisation and interdisciplinary approach spread over different sessions, the exhibition allows visitors to enjoy an unprecedented reading and viewing experience.

Inspired by the "one book, one space" concept, project curator Tang Siu-wa invited five Hong Kong authors, namely Hon Lai-chu, Dorothy Tse, Cally Yu, Him Lo and Ho Sin-tung, to create five new books exploring the meaning of "home" from different perspectives. The exhibition consists of five consecutive sessions, each of which focuses on one of the five books. Artistic visualisation is used to present the literature in a way that liberates visitors from a traditional reading medium. The authors and exhibition periods are:

October 6 to 22: Exhibition of Hon Lai-chu
October 24 to November 12: Exhibition of Dorothy Tse
November 14 to December 3: Exhibition of Cally Yu
December 5 to 18: Exhibition of Him Lo
December 20 to January 2 of next year: Exhibition of Ho Sin-tung

For details of the exhibition, please visit www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/APO/en_US/web/apo/sparkle_room_for_a_book.html or call 2512 3008.

For the "Sparkle!" exhibition series eight local curators, namely Movana Chen, Enoch Cheng, Tang Siu-wa, Jeff Leung, Solomon Yu, Yentl Tong, Sara Wong and Leung Po-shan have been invited to use Oi! as a platform to plan and stage exhibitions and other events that reveal the artistic qualities of the young generation. Focusing on the relationship between art and contemporary living, the artists reflect on pressing issues in life and society using various means of artistic expression. Eight projects under the series will be presented at Oi! during the year 2017-18.

Oi! is located at 12 Oil Street, North Point.
