"#Art Travellers Exhibition Series II: Revisiting Memory Lane" highlights forgotten histories and lost memories (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The Art Promotion Office launched an exhibition entitled "#ArtTravellers Exhibition Series II: Revisiting Memory Lane" today (September 22) at the 1/F Lobby of Trade and Industry Tower. The exhibition reflects how artist Hanison Lau and photographer Chan Dick explored forgotten histories and cultures during their trips, came across lost memories and impressions, and embarked on soulful explorations and adventures.

In the exhibition, Hanison Lau uses old furniture items in an installation to simulate the setting of an antique market. New modular sculptures and vintage items from overseas are placed side by side to weave memory and imagination into flashes of stories of unclear bygones, and to freshen up the recollections of his journeys.

Using childhood memories as a theme, Chan Dick showcases a series of photos taken in a deserted amusement park in Central Taiwan to reminisce about his childhood experience of the Kai Tak Amusement Park in San Po Kong. These photo images reveal a journey alternating between joy and forlornness, taking exhibition visitors back to a space lost in time.

"#ArtTravellers Exhibition Series II: Revisiting Memory Lane" is the second exhibition of a three-year art project and will run until April 14 next year. Under the project, artists of different media are invited to explore the multifaceted nature of travel, presenting in their art anecdotes of vernacular culture and everyday life which may have escaped the eyes of the average tourist, so as to show viewers alternative ways of viewing travel.
