Fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom today (September 19), in which an 88-year-old woman died.

     At about 2.00pm, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 43-year-old man reportedly knocked down the 88-year-old female pedestrian when it reversed on a service road of 20 Chi Kiang Street.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the woman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 2.27pm.

     The woman was about 1.5 metres tall and of medium built. She had white hair with yellow complexion. She was wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, a pair of dark-coloured trousers and carrying a dark-coloured reusable bag.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
