Pui O Beach and Upper Cheung Sha Beach reopened

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has announced that Pui O Beach and Upper Cheung Sha Beach in Islands District have been reopened today (September 7). The beaches were temporarily closed earlier for clearance work and maintenance of the shark prevention nets after the typhoon.

     Meanwhile, Deep Water Bay Beach and Chung Hom Kok Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island, and Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lower Cheung Sha Beach and Tong Fuk Beach in Islands District remain closed until further notice as more time is needed for repairing damaged shark prevention nets or clearing debris due to the typhoon's impact. Red flags have been hoisted at the beaches. Beach-goers are advised not to swim at the beaches.
