Murder and suicide in Yau Ma Tei

About 6.20am, Police received a report that a man and a woman suspectedly fell from height in a housing estate on Yau Cheung Road, Yau Ma Tei.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 30-year-old man and the 29-year-old woman lying unconscious on the podium. Both of them were certified dead at scene.
Upon initial investigations, Police believed that the man had disputed with his wife in a unit at an earlier time. They were later found fallen from height. There were chop wounds on the woman’s body.
A knife in suspected connection with the case was seized inside the unit.
Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of their deaths.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim District are under way.
