During the meeting, Mr Cheung urged Mr Heyn to continue to liaise closely with the UK Home Office to speed up the processing of the visa applications by Hong Kong students as a matter of urgency.

Mr Cheung said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government is very concerned about the issue. He expressed the hope that the relevant visa applications could be approved as soon as possible. He was assured by Mr Heyn that the UK Government is doing its best to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
