The following is issued on behalf of the Communications Authority:

     This press release summarises the Communications Authority (CA)'s decisions following its 66th meeting held in August 2017:

Broadcast Complaints
------------------------

     The CA considered three complaint cases in respect of the licensees' non-compliance with the Radio Code of Practice on Programme Standards (Radio Programme Code) and the Radio Code of Practice on Advertising Standards (Radio Advertising Code):

(a) Complaints against the radio advertisement for "Uber" broadcast on the CR 1 and CR 2 Channels of Hong Kong Commercial Broadcasting Company Limited (CRHK) from May 2016 to September 2016. The CA decided that CRHK should be warned to observe more closely the relevant provisions in the Radio Advertising Code;

(b) Complaint against the radio advertisement for "Uber" broadcast on the Metro Finance Channel of Metro Broadcast Corporation Limited (Metro) on October 16, 2016. The CA decided that Metro should be strongly advised to observe more closely the relevant provisions in the Radio Advertising Code; and

(c) Complaints against the radio programmes "The Summit" and "On A Clear Day" broadcast on the CR 1 and CR 2 Channels of CRHK on March 29 and 30, 2017 respectively. The CA decided that CRHK should be advised to observe more closely the relevant provision in the Radio Programme Code.
