Stephen Wong and Amy Sze to give two-piano recital in October

Pianists Stephen Wong and Amy Sze will collaborate and perform a selection of virtuoso compositions in a two-piano recital in October. The show is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
The programme will feature classical works for two pianos by Mozart, Bolcom, Chopin, Copland, Chaminade, Rachmaninov and Bennett.
Born in Hong Kong, Stephen Wong taught piano and chamber music and served as a vocal coach at the music faculty of McGill University. His trio performed extensively across Canada and made frequent recordings for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Since his return to Hong Kong in 2001, Wong has been active in teaching and performing. He currently teaches at the music faculty of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA), Hong Kong Baptist University, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Education University of Hong Kong. He has also been invited regularly to record for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 4. Wong has collaborated with instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs including pianists Kawai Chan, Josephine Cheung, Amy Sze and Verna Yeung; vocalists Ella Kiang and Nancy Yuen; clarinet player Martin Choy; and the Learners Chorus and the Ella Kiang Singers Chorus. In July 2017, he was invited to perform at "Art, Culture and Music at the Airport" for three performances co-presented by Extension and Continuing Education for Life of the HKAPA and the Hong Kong Airport Authority.
Amy Sze is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music and was awarded the Performer's Certificate as well as Doctor and Master of Musical Arts in Piano Performance and Literature. Her principal teachers have included Nelita True and Gabriel Kwok. As the winner of many prizes and competitions, Sze has appeared as a soloist with orchestras such as the Fort Worth Chamber Orchestra, the Eastman Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. She has also performed in major festivals and venues including the Aspen Music Festival in the US, the Harbin Summer Music Festival in China and the Salzburg Mozarteum Academy in Austria. She has also been a featured artist in the Hong Kong New Generation Concert presented by RTHK, the International Society for Contemporary Music Festival and Le French May. She is currently on the faculty of the HKAPA, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University.
