Tropical Cyclone Hato situation report (2)

     The Hurricane Signal No. 10 issued by the Hong Kong Observatory at 9.10am today (August 23) remains in force.

     The Home Affairs Department has so far opened 26 temporary shelters in various districts and 279 people have sought refuge at the shelters.

     The 1823 Government Call Centre has so far received 182 reports of fallen tree.

     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 11am, a total of 34 people, including 18 men and 16 women, aged between 9 and 92, have sought medical treatment at public hospitals during the typhoon period.

     On air traffic, the Airport Authority Hong Kong reported that a total of 450 flights have been cancelled as at 11am.

     The Drainage Services Department has received four reports of flooding so far. One report of landslide has been received.
