CS to visit Guangzhou

     The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, will visit Guangzhou on August 25 (Friday) to officiate at the opening of an exhibition, organised by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and attend a gala dinner.

     He will be accompanied by the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Patrick Nip Tak-kuen. 

     During the visit to Guangzhou, Mr Cheung will meet with senior officials of the Guangdong Provincial Government, and visit Nansha to learn about its planning, construction progress and future ancillary transport facilities. 

     In addition, he will meet with Hong Kong entrepreneurs and students in Guangdong to learn more about their work, study and living in the Mainland, and listen to their views on developing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area.
      
     Mr Cheung will return to Hong Kong in the evening on the same day.
      
     During his absence, the Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will act as Chief Secretary for Administration.

     While Mr Nip is on duty visit, the Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Andy Chan Shui-fu, will be the Acting Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs
