The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joshua Law, today (August 22) visited Tsuen Wan District, meeting with members of the Tsuen Wan District Council, youth and elderly residents to get an update on the latest developments in Tsuen Wan and the needs of the community.

Accompanied by the District Officer (Tsuen Wan), Miss Jenny Yip, Mr Law first met with the Tsuen Wan District Councillors to exchange views on the developments and issues of concern in the district.

Mr Law then proceeded to the SAGE Tsuen Wan District Elderly Community Centre operated by the Hong Kong Society for the Aged to learn about the facilities in the centre and the activities it organises for the senior citizens. Mr Law also chatted with the elderly people to learn about their daily life and needs.

Mr Law later visited the Tsuen Wan Youth S.P.O.T. of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and listened to the learning experience of a group of young volunteers.

Mr Law said, "I was an assistant district officer in Tsuen Wan many years ago and had lived in the district before. Therefore I feel like returning home today."

He said, "I love talking to young people because you can feel their passion and see Hong Kong's future in their faces. I hope that youngsters can do more community services to develop positive values and become responsible citizens."
