Nursing schools remind applicants of proper registration procedures
*******************************************************************
The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson today (August 18) issued a reminder about the proper registration procedures for successful applicants for the Higher Diploma in Nursing Programme run by public hospitals' Schools of Nursing.  Successful applicants will be mainly notified by email and are required to process the registration in person at the Schools of Nursing with payment of the first instalment of the tuition fee by crossed cheque payable to the "Hospital Authority".  The HA has not requested applicants to deposit the payment directly into any bank account.

Anyone receiving suspicious telephone calls should enquire directly at the Schools of Nursing and seek police assistance if needed.

The HA Head Office today received a report from one of the Schools of Nursing regarding a public enquiry on the fee payment arrangements.  As the details of the enquiry were different from the current arrangement, the HA is making this public appeal, besides reporting the incident to the police.  So far, HA has received no report of wrong deposit of school fees.
