Fatal traffic accident in Tsim Sha Tsui (with photos)

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday (August 15) in which a non-ethnic Chinese man aged about 40 died.

     At about 11.50pm, a taxi driven by a 64-year-old man was travelling along Mody Road westbound. When turning left to Chatham Road South, it reportedly rolled over the man who was lying on the road.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 0.16am today (August 16).

     The non-ethnic Chinese man, aged about 40, stood about 1.68 metres tall, thin build with brown short hair. He was wearing a grey short-sleeved T-shirt, a pair of blue and white trousers, and a pair of brown flip-flops.

     The taxi driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West is underway.
