Thirteen building plans approved in June

     The Buildings Department approved 13 building plans in June, with seven on Hong Kong Island, one in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, five were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, three were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments and three were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 22 building projects that, when completed, will provide 320 467 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 6 093 units, and 235 804 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 10 building projects.

     The department also issued 20 occupation permits, with five on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 157 318 sq m, involving 2 341 units, and 72 690 sq m was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled about $9.7 billion.

     In addition, eight demolition consents involving eight building structures were issued.

     The department received 2 473 reports about unauthorised building works in June and issued 563 removal orders on unauthorised works.
