TD reminds motorists on implementation of two-way toll collection arrangement at Lantau Link this Sunday

A spokesman for the TD said that to facilitate the implementation of the two-way toll collection arrangement at the Lantau Link Main Toll Plaza and the Ma Wan Toll Plaza, all traffic lanes at the toll plazas will be temporarily closed for about two minutes on August 20 for the setting up of the new toll collection system. It is anticipated that traffic would not be affected much by the temporary lane closure.
Upon completion of the toll collection system adjustment, the two-way toll collection arrangement will be fully implemented at the Lantau Link, with two Autotoll lanes and four manual toll collection lanes operating at the Lantau Link Main Toll Plaza (airport bound). Motorists will have to pay the toll for every single trip. There will not be any change to the amount of additional fare paid by passengers whose taxi hiring involves the use of the Lantau Link.
Noting that five of the toll collection lanes, namely Nos. 13 to 17, at the Lantau Link Main Toll Plaza (airport bound) will close until December to facilitate the installation of toll collection facilities and systems as well as the related civil works (see Annexes), the spokesman reminded motorists to drive carefully and follow the guidance of the traffic signs to be erected at the scene.
Meanwhile, since the toll tickets are non-refundable and no change will be given, motorists using the Lantau Link should use the remaining toll tickets with round-trip face values as soon as possible and purchase toll tickets with single-trip face values. More than one toll ticket with single-trip face value can be used at the same time. Motorists who wish to exchange toll tickets with round-trip face values for single-trip ones can contact Wilson Parking (Holdings) Limited at 2830 3845 from now until November 20.
According to the law, motorists who have not paid or underpaid the toll are required to pay a surcharge of $170 in addition to settling the unpaid toll.
