Austrian logistics giant Gebrüder Weiss opens new office in Hong Kong (with photos)

The company's new office in Hong Kong and those in Shenzhen, Zhanjiang and Guangzhou will form a strategic loop offering clients comprehensive solutions ranging from air and sea freight to storage and local distribution, plus e-commerce solutions with web shop systems and more. According to the Head of Gebrüder Weiss Hong Kong and Guangdong Province, Mr Michael Zankel, the Bay Area concept is a timely factor behind the latest move, as closer co-operation between cities in the area is expected to accelerate and increase flows of goods.
Mr Zankel said, "The Hong Kong office will oversee the other three offices as part of the Group's expansion plan on the south coast of China. The Pearl River Delta, with Guangdong Province and neighboring Hong Kong, is one of the highest growing economic regions in China, and is an immensely important logistics hub for Europe and America."
He added, "Hong Kong is currently ranked the world's fifth largest container port and Hong Kong International Airport is and continues to be the gold standard in terms of air freight.As a full-service logistics company that operates all over the world, having a presence in the Pearl River Delta including Hong Kong is crucial for us."
