Police respond to press enquiries on appointment of Under Secretary for Security

In response to press enquiries related to the Government announcement today (August 1) on the appointment of the Director of Crime and Security, Mr Au Chi-kwong, as the Under Secretary for Security, a Police spokesman said:

"Police welcome the appointment of Mr Au. With his outstanding performance in the Force for over 30 years, Mr Au has contributed significantly to the development of the Force and the law and order of Hong Kong. We believe that Mr Au will co-ordinate all disciplined services departments within the Security Bureau with a view to providing quality services to members of the public. The Police will continue to work in close partnership with the Security Bureau to maintain the safety and stability of Hong Kong."
