Transcript of remarks by SLW after visiting Yuen Long District
**************************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr Law Chi-kwong, in a stand-up media session after conducting home visits under the "Celebrations for All" project and visiting a welfare service facility in Yuen Long District today (July 31):

Reporter: ... the Government is interested to start using subdivided public flats to tackle the housing issue. Is that the new practice for the Administration?

Secretary for Labour and Welfare: The Government is going to tackle the issue of housing on all fronts. Definitely the most important part is to increase the supply of housing. But apart from that, as far as we can, to obtain vacant units in the community and use them for some kind of transitional housing, I think that is going to be very useful.

Reporter: Yesterday Mrs Carrie Lam said that if you are worried about the co-location plan at West Kowloon, you just stay away from the platform. Is it the administration's new way of facing public questions towards the co-location plan?

Secretary for Labour and Welfare: The administration will try to explain as clearly as possible, so that there will be as little misunderstanding as possible.
