Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Edward Yau, at a media session on the appointment of the Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development after attending the 17th Consumer Rights Reporting Awards Presentation Ceremony today (July 31):

Reporter: Is the Under Secretary of your bureau your first choice? What are the criteria?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: We are forming our team. We hope to find the best candidate for the job. It is important for the new team to have people from all walks of life and from different professions. Take my bureau as an example. I would like to have people coming from different backgrounds, so that we can have a better feel on various sectors. I am looking forward to the announcement to be made by the Chief Executive, and I look forward to bringing my team to see people from different trades and preparing ourselves for the next legislative session.
