"Toy Formula 1@Victoria Park" to host model car activities on August 20
***********************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will hold "Toy Formula 1@Victoria Park" on August 20 (Sunday) as part of its ongoing "Storm the Park" campaign. By taking part in radio-controlled model car parades, demonstrations and other activity sessions in Victoria Park on the day, members of the public can experience the vibrancy of parks amid the joyful and celebratory ambience of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

During the "Toy Formula 1@Victoria Park" event, soccer pitch No. 1 of the park will be turned into three racing circuits and a parade area for radio-controlled model cars. Experienced participants can show their skills in a large racing circuit measuring 35 metres by 20m, while beginners may enjoy the fun of operating radio-controlled model cars in the two smaller racing circuits. Participants can also look around and take pictures of the different types of radio-controlled model cars on display in the parade area. Professionals will be present at the event to offer guidance and assistance to participants, as well as share their experience through demonstrations.

The LCSD has been holding a series of "Storm the Park" events in various parks of different districts across the territory since December last year, attracting more than 9 500 people of all ages to have fun with their families at the parks during holidays.

"Toy Formula 1@Victoria Park", one of the events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the HKSAR's establishment, will be held at soccer pitch No. 1 of Victoria Park from 3pm to 6pm on August 20. Admission is free, and different types of radio-controlled model cars will be provided for participants for use without charges. People of all ages are welcome to join on the spot. For enquiries, please contact the Wan Chai District Leisure Services Office at 2879 5622 during office hours, or visit the LCSD's "Storm the Park" webpage.
