STH visits Central and Western District (with photos)

     The Secretary for Transport and Housing, Mr Frank Chan Fan, today (July 28) visited the Central and Western District to learn about the latest development of the community and conducted home visits under the "Celebrations for All" project.
      
     Accompanied by the Chairman of Central and Western District Council, Mr Yip Wing-shing, and District Officer (Central and Western), Mrs Susanne Wong, Mr Chan visited two elderly families. He gave them gift packs to share the joy of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
      
     Mr Chan then proceeded to Western Wholesale Food Market where he received briefing on the signature project scheme of the district and the development on the waterfront.
      
     For the last leg of his district visit, Mr Chan met with Central and Western District Councillors to listen to their views on local needs and concerns.
      
     The Acting Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Miss Agnes Wong; the Director of Marine, Ms Maisie Cheng; the Director of Highways, Mr Daniel Chung; the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Mr Simon Li; and the Acting Commissioner for Transport, Ms Macella Lee, also participated in today's visit.
      
     The "Celebrations for All" project is one of the major events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. It is co-ordinated by the Home Affairs Department and implemented by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the 18 districts.
