New Deputy Commandant of HKAPF appointed (with photo)

     The Government announced today (July 28) the appointment of Mr Cheng Man-sum as the Deputy Commandant of the Hong Kong Auxiliary Police Force (HKAPF) with effect from July 13, 2017.

     The appointment was made by the Chief Executive to fill a vacancy following the appointment of the then Deputy Commandant, Mr Yang Joe-tsi, to Commandant in April 2016.

     Mr Cheng, aged 55, is a partner of a local law firm. He joined the HKAPF as a Constable (Auxiliary) in August 1984 and was promoted to Superintendent (Auxiliary) in January 2007, Senior Superintendent (Auxiliary) in October 2011 and Chief Superintendent (Auxiliary) in September 2015.  

     Mr Cheng has a wide range of operational and management experience. He was awarded the Long Service Medal for Auxiliary Police in 1999 and the First Clasp in 2009.
