S for S conducts home visits under "Celebrations for All" project in Sha Tin (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr John Lee, visited elderly households and families in need in Sha Tin under the "Celebrations for All" project today (July 26).

     Upon arrival at Yan On Estate in Ma On Shan, Mr Lee met with volunteers of non-governmental organisations who took part in home visits. Mr Lee expressed his heartfelt thanks to the volunteers for their care and concern towards the elderly and people in need. He said he hoped that residents would enjoy the celebratory atmosphere of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) through the home visits.

     Accompanied by the District Officer (Sha Tin), Miss Amy Chan, and the Chairman of the Sha Tin District Council, Mr Ho Hau-cheung, Mr Lee visited four households in the estate to learn more about their daily life and distributed gift packs to share the joy of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR.

     The Permanent Secretary for Security, Mrs Marion Lai, also participated in today's home visits.

     The "Celebrations for All" project is one of the major events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. The project is co-ordinated by the Home Affairs Department and implemented by non-governmental organisations in the 18 districts.
